Moving past my Santa doll posting is going to be tough. I love seeing Johanna Parker's Santa when I log on...however, he is still here...just scroll down a bit. With the New Year approaching, it was time to change the background from Reindeer to something more festive for 2009.
Well, I have been hookin' again (sounds like something I need to give up for the New Year!). If you have been following my blog, I am also finishing up one of my Gritty Jane dolls. I will never forget my art teachers always telling me to finish one project before I started another. Obviously, I am still not listening! Although, I did get my hooked rug finished and I am very pleased with it.
I started collecting yelloware bowls around the same time Martha Stewart made them popular...the ones I collect are called "Martha Bowls". I decided to hook three nesting yelloware bowls to match my collection. I seem to have a thing for "nesting" since most of my collage boxes are in a nesting set. I posted a picture of the nesting boxes I finished to match my Gritty Jane doll. Right now, my two-headed pumpkin man called "Double Trouble" is standing behind them, but not for long once I get my doll finished.
If you stop by, please leave me a post. I would love to hear what you collect.
“Another fresh new year is here . . .
Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!
This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest . . .
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!
I have the opportunity
Once more to right some wrongs,
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
And sing more joyful songs!”

Bonjour! Just wanted to thank you for joining my list of followers! Nice meeting you! Please come and visit often, I will too! We have many cats too, 5 at the moment, but had 10 last year. All strays. We lost a few to a weasel last year and we still have not recovered from it... Take care, LuLu
I am sorry to hear that...I don't think we have weasels where I live, but we have packs of coyotes. I bring all the cats inside at night. I certainly never intended to have so many, but I cannot imagine being without them. I love your paintings, the colors are so vibrant. Have a Happy New Year!
I collect a lot of Halloween and I Love pumpkins! All kinds of pumpkins! Love your hooked rug AND your yellow ware bowls too!
Happy New Year to you too! =D

Hello new follower! I stopped by to see what your blog was all about. I love the bowls you collect. I collect white bowls. I also like to collect the glass knob-things that come off the old telephone poles. They come in cool colors like blues (Colbalt, sky, turquoise), white, browns, clear. They are pretty when cleaned up and are heavy so they make good paper weights. I also like to collect little pottery cups that can be used for water coloring and ink drawing in the Asian fashion of ink drawing with bamboo and fur brushes.
I am sure I collect other things but I can't think off the top of my head what I gather and horde.
Renee.

Happy New Year! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I am an animal lover too- two cats and two dogs :] I would have more if my husband's head wouldn't spin completely around his body at the mention of another animal.
I've enjoyed seeing some of your collection-very pretty!
I have a thing for angels and collect, and receive many...lucky me!
I Love Madame Butterfly, by the way! She's awesome-perfect features! Jane's class was a lot of fun!
